Board of Global Outreach? That’s right, our Global Outreach committee was approved in 2007 officially as The Board of Global Outreach. The main focus of this new and exciting venture is to assist, train, inform, and provide opportunity in areas of mission, outside the Fergus Falls area. Since the inception of this group, we have been in contact with other mission groups within our LCMS church body, asking questions, and getting ideas how we can help in spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ in parts of the world, we as a congregation, have not been involved with in the past.
One of our familiar hymns, based on Isaiah 6:8-9 reads as follows:
Let none hear you idly saying,
“There is nothing I can do”
While the souls of men are dying
And the Master calls for you.
Take the task he gives you gladly
Let his work your pleasure be.
Answer quickly when he calleth
“Here am I, send me, send me”
In Mathew 28:19, we have been given a command to go out, and spread the good news of Jesus to “all Nations”. In response to the love that He has shown for us, we have opportunities before us to be active in spreading the Gospel, not just here in our community, but beyond the city limits, beyond the state lines, as well as outside the United States.
Please pray for the work of our own Board of Global Outreach as we share together in telling others of the message of Jesus Christ.
