Ladies of the congregation are invited to take part in sewing simple dresses for young girls. The dresses will be delivered through the Orphan Grain Train mission to areas of the world where there are very warm climates. The dresses can be cut and sewn from a pillowcase (which is the original theme of the project), or from approximately one yard of fabric. We have set a goal of providing 100 dresses for girls and would love to have our ladies participate in this project. Check out the sample dresses on display in the narthex. If you have any questions, you may contact Char Dale at 218-537-1187 or Joyce Roehl at 218-736-6158 who have graciously volunteered to answer your questions in regards to the pattern, sewing, trims on the dresses, and etc.
Char has also volunteered to do the sewing if you prefer to just provide the fabric. Fabric or pillow cases can be left by the display table in the narthex. Also, if you choose to just sew the dress, the Trinity Crafters will be happy to add the pockets and/or the trimmings.
Thank you for your support of this “Dress a Girl” project. We hope to meet our goal in the next few months.
